So many people would like to be paid to fly for a living. Many do not wish to drive a bus or an Airbus in this case and work for a big airline. There are the ups and downs of the airline industry, as it is cyclical and if you get with the wrong airline in a downward sector rotation, you will be laid off and the airline could fold or file bankruptcy. This happens a lot. Yet generally an airline pilot is paid quite well, the fun wares off within a few years or for some up to 10-years and you are mostly just happy with the money, but do not like the job so much. Of course you could be a charter pilot, taking people to events, skiing, site seeing etc. That is a lot of fun, as often the destinations vary and break up the boredom. So, flying charter is often fun, yet there are drawbacks to this too. For instance; well, flying charter, you cannot get paid what you are worth as all the young kids are busy building flight time and half of them would pay to fly the company to fly their planes just to build multi-engine time in type. The other would consider being paid with only bread and water? Although flying is a lot of fun and many people fancy the idea of being paid for such fun, you have to realize that it is not always the best way to make money. So one should know this before going to work as a pilot for a charter company. Think on this. |
